The mentorship program is a great way to build a relationship with a more experienced member of the club and expand your network. You will meet likeminded peers with different backgrounds. Our mentors also plan fun social events with mentees to get to know each other better. An example from the past is going to a cat cafe!​

Our experienced mentors are upperclassmen who have held summer internships at major insurance firms (e.g. Liberty Mutual, AIG, NYL) as well as consulting firms (e.g. like Deloitte, E&Y, Mercer). Our mentors can provide knowledge of the industry for students interested in exploring actuarial science, as well as provide helpful details and feedback about recruiting.

The mentors have experience with Stern coursework and can give advice on how to build a schedule that will help mentees to gain the skills needed to have a successful career in actuarial science. Our mentors have also successfully passed actuarial exams, and can provide insight on study strategies.

Our mentorship program also supports mentees in developing essential technical skills, mainly Microsoft Excel at both beginner and intermediate levels.
